Coeliac UK and Crohn’s and Colitis UK have launched a joint call for research using CPRD.
Researchers are invited to submit applications for the epidemiology of coeliac disease, dermatitis herpetiformis, Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. Funding of up to £70,000 is available for one project for a maximum 12 months.
Using CPRD, the funders require the incidence and prevalence of these conditions in the UK as of 2019, categorised for age (yearly for children, range for adults), gender, ethnicity, geographical region, socioeconomic status and age within geographical region. Researchers should also show how many people diagnosed with these conditions were previously diagnosed or treated for irritable bowel syndrome.
