The CPRD GOLD database contains longitudinal routinely-collected electronic health records (EHR data) from UK primary care practices using Vision® general practice patient management software. The database captures information on: Demographic characteristicsDiagnoses and symptomsDrug exposuresVaccination historyLaboratory testsReferrals to hospital and specialist careAccess to anonymised data from CPRD is subject to a full licence agreement containing detailed terms and conditions of use. Anonymised patient datasets can be extracted for researchers against specific study specifications, following protocol approval. Further information is available at www.cprd.com/data-access.

- Percentage UK population coverage (current patients only): 3,075,922 of 67,081,000 (4.59%)
- Median (25th and 75th percentile) follow-up time in years for currently registered patients: 13.04 (4.72 – 25.94)
- Patients eligible for linkage: 9,300,887
- Total number of GP practices: 984
- Percentage coverage of UK general practices (currently contributing practices only): 403 of 8,178 (4.93%)
